Samsung Galaxy Note II Camera & Video Tips

Samsung Galaxy Note II Camera and Video Tips. Samsung Galaxy Note II have 8 MegaPixel Primary camera and 1.9 MegaPixel Front Camera. Samsung Galaxy Note II is powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor. It's runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. The powerful 3100 mAh battery.

Use HDR mode in mixed lighting - or all a time

The 8 MegaPixel sensor of the Samsung Galaxy Note II is pretty good on it's own, but the neat camera app ups it's skills significantly. One of our favourite bonus bits is the HDR mode. This effectively combines multiple exposure in a single shots to bring out extra detail in shadows. Both the HDR and normal shots are saved, meaning there's very little downside - other than that taking shots is a little bit slower. (Also read this post How to Take HDR Photos on Samsung Galaxy Note II.)

Check out Slow and Fast motion modes

Nestled within the menus of the video camera app are fast and slow motion modes, capturing either more or fewer frames per second than normal than normal. It's not quite the 120 fps mode you get some dedicated cameras, but will come in handy if you're trying to video a sport event, for example.

Don't forget video effects

The Samsung Galaxy Note II doesn't have the fun face-distorting video effects you get with a vanilla jelly bean phone, but it does have a range of funky filters. There are color pop modes, extracting all but certain shades from your videos and the cartoon filter is perfect for some arty rotoscope-style videos.

Give the exposure longer time than sound effect suggest

Each time you can take a photo, a shutter sound plays in a Samsung Galaxy Note II. However, we found that occasionally a phone need a little bit longer to attain a solid focus. Hold still for an extra half-second for a good measure.

Get video previews with Air View

Using Air View, if you hold the pen over the transport bar of the movie clip in the media player, you'll be given a preview of what's going on in the film at that point. It makes finding the right part of the film.

Everything which consumes Battey is displyed here. Applications consuming huge amount of battery is advised to be removed unless frequently used.
  • If the average Battery life suddenly changes after installing a new application, consider removing it. Poorly written apps can affect overall Battery life.
  • Avoid third-party appscsuch as "Task killer" or "Battery  Manager" . Most of them do more harm than prevent it.
  • Samsung Galaxy Note II has 5.55-inch display screen using Super AMOLED technology which is great for viewing images and videos. But evan it's an OLED; the size itself can drain more battery. Adjust the brightness and timeout to save more energy. Go to Notifications bar > Select Display > Select Automatic Brightness.
  • Turn off Smart Stay feature if it's not in use.
  • Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Auto-Sync if they are not in use. Hold down the notifications bar to disable them.
  • Activate the 'Power Saving Mode' which will make the device conserve energy under low battery state.
  • Limit background applications which do not require any updates. Go to Settings > Data Usage and then scroll down to view applications consuming a lot data in the background. To turn off data background, check the "Restrict Data Background." The less applications consuming data in the background, the more battery power is saved.
